Junior Project Coordinator
Help us sweat the details while fostering creativity and innovation

Meridian Development Corp. is looking for a passionate individual to help us sweat the details while fostering creativity and innovation in the planning and execution of our commercial construction projects. Within the organization project coordinators are part of the team responsible for a project’s performance, including safety, quality, budget, schedule, and owner satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals with construction experience that might have included hands on experience and/or a technical education, experience or skills.

Ideal applicants possess at least one of the following: technical diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge.

Skills or equivalent experiences and knowledge that would be considered most beneficial to helping us attain results are as follows:

Basic engineering and building construction skills that might include:

  • Past hands-on labour or construction experience
  • Structural design skills
  • Blueprint reading skills

Project Accountant
Provide an accurate picture of all costs associated with the project to its stakeholders can effectively manage and make the best decisions to ensure its success.

What You'll Do

  • Report on monthly progress to the project team and provide recommendations to ensure project success.
  • Work closely with the project team in the development of budgets and make improvements in the overall budgetting process.
  • Follow up on queries generated by the project team and provide a satisfactory resolution.
  • Track project costs by each subcontractor based on contract requirements and rectify any issues.
  • Ensure invoices are aligned with contractual agreements and interact with suppliers to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure suppliers and subcontractor are paid in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure taxes are correctly recorded based on the contract and the province of the project.
  • Interact with the Workers' Compensation Board to assist suppliers in being properly insured.
  • Coordinate and track change orders with subcontractors.
  • Invoice customers monthly while recording revenue accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot any issues with cost codes to improve internal reporting.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting.
  • Experience working in the construction industry or on special projects is an asset.
  • Completion or active pursuit or CPA designation.
  • Knowledge of interprovincial tax regulations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Project Administrator
Provide critical project support, ensuring that all applicable procedures are followed

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Manage and maintain project files, ensuring all required documentation is accurate, present and completed during required stages of project delivery
  • Maintain the document management system
  • Detail oriented, extremely organized and the ability to work in a busy team environment

  • Excellent interpersonsal and teamwork skills

We are looking for individuals with progressive commercial construction project experience that includes technical skills, mature interpersonal skills, communication, leadership, supervision, and management. Past experiences most suitable would include construction planning and execution, contract management, engineering, and safety.

Candidates should possess at least one of the following: technical diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge. Other skills or equivalent experiences and knowledge that would be considered most beneficial to helping us attain results are basic engineering and building construction skills (5-10 years) that might include:

Construction Project Superintendent
Full time or contract position for an experienced Project Superintendent.

Meridian Development Corp., an industry leader and dynamic real estate development firm in Saskatoon, is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent.

Company will consider employment to grow with the organization or a contract position.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with leadership qualities who is able to work without supervision, manage people and projects, and is a team player with strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment, be capable of forward innovative philosophy and interact on a professional level with large institutions.

This position requires the candidate to have 10 years’ experience as a Project Superintendent on multi-family or commercial projects, an understanding of different project delivery models such as design-build, and construction management.

The successful candidate will report directly to Meridian Directors and will become familiar with all company projects and be involved in a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Along with the Project Operations Manager, manage all trades and subcontractors that are working on the project

  • Build to a very high company standard and in accordance with all approved plans, specs, and applicable building codes

  • Review and maintain the construction schedule as laid out by the Project Operations Manager

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when working with the Client to ensure that they are at all times more than satisfied

  • Work to maintain site safety policies and procedures in order to meet or exceed corporate safety manual, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workers' Compensation Board

  • Review and code all invoices and check for any discrepancies

  • Work in a manner to effectively and efficiently manage job costs and ensure that the budget is met

  • Maintain daily log
