About

Meridian

Founded in 2004 by three entrepreneurs, Meridian Development was established with a focus on residential development. The Company was built on and backed by the then 40+ year legacy of Business Hall of Famer, heritage award-winning, and respected developer and Meridian co-founder Ken Achs. His commitment to quality real estate development extends across all sectors in Canada and the United States.

From its inception, Meridian’s plan was to focus on residential development in all its different incarnations, creating the envelope for an enviable lifestyle by nurturing innovative and aesthetically beautiful design in carefully juried locations. The Meridian motto was, and continues to be, “The Art of Living Well,” which has always remained the focus of every project, regardless of the type of residential product or who would ultimately inhabit the space. Projects from the beginning have been inspired by travels around the world in search of the latest design inspiration, bringing those ideas home to the corporation’s home city of Saskatoon, and later to projects developed throughout British Columbia and beyond…

Our Vertically Integrated Approach

At our core, Meridian Developments is a developer. Our vertically integrated approach allows us to take a project from vision to reality while maintaining greater control, continuity, and accountability throughout the development process.

Our experience extends beyond development into construction, hospitality, property management, and operations. This broader perspective influences how we approach every project—from the earliest stages of planning and design to construction, completion, and long-term operation.

Because we understand what happens after a building is built, we make better decisions before it is built. We consider how spaces will function, how they will be maintained, and how they will ultimately be experienced by the people who live, work, stay, and gather there.

For Meridian, vertical integration is about more than having capabilities under one roof. It gives us the ability to see the bigger picture, protect the original vision, and create developments that are thoughtfully designed, exceptionally built, and positioned for long-term success.
